Developing country responses to the food price spike: what have we learned?

Public event, 29 January 2010
13:00-14:30, London

When cereal prices rose dramatically on world markets in late 2007 and early 2008, many developing countries reacted energetically to moderate the impact on domestic food prices and ameliorate hardships to local consumers.

This public meeting at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) will present the key messages from a two-day workshop hosted by ODI on the results of research into the reactions of developing country governments and non-governmental organisations, asking what was done and how effective these measures were.
