INSPIRE - UK Central & South Asia education partnerships

The British Council invites joint proposals from UK Higher Education Institutions and HEIs in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan and Pakistan to develop Strategic Partnerships.

Closing date for applications: 16 July 2010

The INSPIRE Strategic Partnerships aim to develop an institution-to-institution link based on a number of different areas of activity. These could be a mix of: 
  • research co-operation
  • teacher exchange
  • curriculum development
  • student exchange
  • collaborative programme development
Over the course of the partnership, institutions should aim to involve different levels and departments within the university to create a multi-dimensional, international relationship.

Funding -  For Bangladesh and Uzbekistan funding will be for a maximum of three years. The maximum award for a bilateral institution-to-institution partnership is £15,000 per annum. In Afghanistan, funding will also be for a maximum of three years. The maximum award is £10,000 per annum.

Eligible partners - Higher Education Institutions in UK and government-recognised HEIs in Central & South Asia. These can be both private and public universities.
