India-UK collaborative research initiative

The Research Councils UK (RCUK) and the Indian Department of Science and Technology (DST) are looking to strengthen collaboration between UK and Indian research institutions.

Joint proposals are sought from consortia of researchers from the UK and India for projects under the theme of 'Bridging the Urban and rural Divide’.

A key aim of this scheme is to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration on common research challenges for the UK and India, with a focus on technical challenges in Energy and Digital Economy.

Areas of research focus:

  • Robust, digitally secure systems to provide information and decision support
  • Hybrid systems for energy
  • Healthcare technologies and systems
  • Enterprise
Funding is available for large, three-year consortia projects.

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) is managing the proposals on behalf of RCUK.
