Forests Programme Manager, Amazon and Colombia

An exciting opportunity for someone with fluent Spanish language skills to provide programme management support to WWF’s Living Amazon Initiative (LAI) and Colombia Forest Programme.

WWF believes in a future where people and nature thrive. They are looking for someone to provide support on the delivery of the strategy for WWF’s Living Amazon Initiative (LAI) and Colombia Forest Programme. You’ll take direct responsibility for programme management of a number of lines of work in several Amazon countries, including the development and implementation of grant agreements with relevant WWF partners.

Your main priority will be programme management, including ensuring that proposals, workplans, budgets, logframes and monitoring and evaluation plans are aligned with LAI and WWF-UK strategies. To do this you’ll need to have the ability to assess field capacity for the implementation of agreed projects and programmes to ensure contract compliance. You will also provide fundraising and communications support.

You’ll have a track record of building successful relationships with a range of partners as you’ll need to liase with other internal and external teams as well as donors and other stakeholders. To do this you’ll have first class communication, writing and presentation skills and a strong understanding of how to get the best out of working partnerships.

You will have demonstrable project management experience and skills together with a good knowledge of international forest issues, including community-based and pro-poor approaches and biodiversity conservation. You’ll need to be proactive and self motivated and it is essential you are a fluent Spanish-speaker.
