The role - Parliamentary Relations Manager

At VSO, we are passionate about ending poverty. Are You? We are looking for an experienced Public Affairs professional to work within VSO UK’s External Affairs team to lead VSO’s influencing in Parliament and contribute to enhancing VSO’s public profile.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining senior level relationships across all the political parties, as well as driving VSO’s lobbying activity to deliver policy change that will improve the lives of the world’s poorest people.

As a member of the VSO UK External Affairs Management Team, you will be responsible for working with colleagues to set the strategic direction of VSO’s external campaigns and advocacy work. Drawing on your contacts in Westminster and Whitehall, you will provide political insight, analysis and intelligence to colleagues in VSO UK and VSO International.

The applicant

 You must have substantial experience of representation at a senior level, a high level of competence at lobbying and nurturing influential relationships, and an understanding of UK government processes and policy-making. You will be results focused and eager to make an impact. A track record of influencing policy on international development issues is desirable but candidates with experience in other sectors are also encouraged to apply.
