Research Officers
BBC Media Action is the independent international charity of the BBC which uses media to advance development worldwide (previously called the BBC World Service Trust).
Our mission is to improve the quality of people’s lives in developing and transitional countries through innovative use of media. We do this through our focus on health, governance, livelihoods, climate change and humanitarian response.
We work in partnerships that include governments, broadcasters, civil society institutions, donor agencies and international NGOs.
You’ll bring strong experience of qualitative and quantitative market/ social research and methodologies. You’ll complement these abilities with strong IT skills to include Excel and PowerPoint along with experience of data analysis packages such as SPSS or Atlas. Your strong writing and presentation skills will allow you to communicate complex technical ideas to a range of non-specialist audiences. As a result, you’ll bring a track record of delivering research findings to deadline, which will highlight your outstanding planning and organisational skills.
It would be advantageous if you’re familiar with commissioning and/ or conducting research in developing countries, as would fluency in any major African, Asian and Middle Eastern languages.
