UK Earth Sciences horizon scanning – your views
The British Geological Survey is co-ordinating a horizon scanning exercise to define earth science direction for the UK earth sciences community, including industry and business.
The aim is to produce a report by May 2010 with objectives for earth science over the next decade, and the investment, training and infrastructure necessary to achieve them.
The report will not be used to feed into any particular science review process, rather it will serve to inform UK policy makers of the future significance of earth science information in addressing key societal and environmental issues.
Comments are now invited on the proposed aims, scope and structure of the final report. See the consultation website for full details.
Closing dates for comments is 15 March 2010.
