Food security
More research is needed to meet global food demand.
UKCDS members and the secretariat are working together through a number of UK and international initiatives to improve the efficiency and responsiveness of global food markets.
Activities that UKCDS members are involved in include:
- Working groups to address skills and capacity problems and improve the translation and exploitation of food research
- The development of a framework and roadmap for research
- Developing partnerships with the private sector
- Promotion of UK agri-food skills
UKCDS have also produced a working paper, 'Food security: An overview of stakeholder activities', that provides an overview of the main UK activities focussing on food security and the main stakeholders involved in food security related research.
