Opportunities under the 2012 work programme for international cooperation

The 2012 call has now been published. Full details can be found on the EC's new Participant portal.

The 'Cooperation' area supports research activities carried out by research organisations across the EU and the rest of the world. Cooperation is sub-divided into 10 themes. Funding opportunities that enable and encourage the participation of low and middle income countries with EU researchers and research institutes (Specific International Cooperation Activities-SICAs) in the 2012 call can be found listed here and a list of both SICAs and 'targeted calls' can be found here .

While participants in FP7 can in principle be based anywhere, there are different categories of country which may have varying eligibility for different specific calls and work programmes. The participation criteria for a consortium applying for a SICA are usually a minimum of 4 participants from different countries: 2 of them from the target region + 2 from MS or AC/ ICPC countries can be reimbursed on the basis of eligible costs or lump sums. The lump sum amount depends on the country income group.

If you are looking for a partner, try the EC's Patnering Service.

More international cooperation activities also exist under the Capacity Programme.
