Research collaboration

In October 2008, UKCDS and the Environment Research Funders Forum (ERFF) held a workshop for environmental research funders and scientists and those who support for the development sciences research base.

The aim was to discuss how funders organise research that is rigorous, more globally constructed, user-oriented, capacity enhancing and, ultimately, more influential.

Research councils, knowledge intermediaries, scientists, researchers, NGOs, government agencies and departments all participated in an open-ended discussion about the relationship between scientific excellence, user-driven research and collaboration in a search to find new ways of doing research.
