Scottish Government

The Scottish Government has an International Development Policy with a particular commitment to Malawi.

Its international framework aims to:

  • Enhance Scotland's contribution to the global fight against poverty through activity which is clearly designed to support the achievement of the MDGs and economic growth in developing countries.
  • Demonstrate Scotland's commitment to play its role in addressing the challenges faced by the developing world, recognising Scotland's identity as a responsible nation.

As part of its International Development Policy, the Scottish Government seeks to encourage greater partnership within the Scottish science base to enable a stronger contribution to development and poverty reduction.

Collaboration with UKCDS

The Scottish Government joined UKCDS in September 2009. The Chief Scientific Advisor to Scotland, Professor Anne Glover, is Chair of the UKCDS Board.
