Opportunities for international cooperation in Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities (SSH) research under the 2011 work programme.

The aim of the SSH programme is generating an in-depth, shared understanding of complex and interrelated socio-economic challenges confronting Europe.

  • social, cultural and educational challenges in an enlarged EU
  • sustainability
  • environmental challenges
  • demographic change
  • migration and integration
  • quality of life
  • global interdependence

International Cooperation Activities

Researchers and research institutions from International Cooperation Partner Countries (ICPCs) are strongly encouraged to participate in proposals that are submitted under all Challenges and Topics in this work programme.

Calls targeting countries and regions outside the EU:

Connections between rural areas and cities in sub-Saharan Africa (SSH.2011.4.1-2.)
Target region: Sub-Saharan Africa

Tackling poverty in a development context (SSH.2011.4.1-1)
Target regions: focus on Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean

Economic, social and political conditions for satisfying the world food needs (SSH.2011.2.1-1)
Target regions: global focus, Latin American Countries encouraged.
