Deputy Head of the Government Office for Science
Jeremy Clayton is Deputy Head of the Government Office for Science which is located in the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS).
Before joining the then Office of Science and Technology in February 2003, Jeremy was responsible for strategic export control. Earlier senior civil service posts included the auction of third generation mobile radiospectrum, finance and privatisation work.
Jeremy was in the Department of Energy until 1991, working on issues including energy policy, the Sizewell B Public Inquiry and support for the coal industry.
