21st Century Research Collaboration

This report is the main output of a workshop held in October 2008 which asked: 'how funders organise research that is rigorous, more globally constructed, user-oriented, capacity enhancing and, ultimately, more influential?'.

Research councils, knowledge intermediaries, scientists, researchers, NGOs, government agencies and departments all participated in an open-ended discussion about the relationship between scientific excellence, user-driven research and collaboration in a search to find new ways of doing research.
