The Committee on Scientific Planning and Review (CSPR) of ICSU appointed a Panel to conduct a Priority Area
Assessment (PAA) of Capacity Building in Science.
The Priority Area Assessment makes recommendations in six broad areas:
- An apparent crisis in science, capacity building, and ICSU’s mission and role
- Making scientific capacity building a priority
- Building and strengthening human capital
- Communicating between science and society
- Strengthening the links among education, research, and society
- Review of current ICSU activities
