Based in the UK's Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Africa Unit aims to promote, facilitate and enhance partnerships between African and UK Higher and Further education institutions (HE/FE).
The unit's goal is to help educational institutions both in Africa and the UK create new partnerships and strengthen existing partnerships by providing information, advice and support.
It is funded by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) (previously the Department of Innovation, Universities & Skills) and the Department for Employment and Learning Northern Ireland (DELNI).
The Africa Unit website features a database of UK and African HE/FE partnerships.
