All Party Parliamentary Group on Agriculture and Food for Development

The APPG seeks to bring together Parliamentarians concerned with agriculture, nutrition and wider food security in the developing world.

In doing so it hopes to improve support from the British government for farmers and other stakeholders in developing countries.

The APPG recognise the pivotal role that increased levels of agricultural research, and their outputs, can have in eliminating global poverty.

It was established by Ian Gibson MP in October 2008 in response to growing concerns over the heightening Food Crisis and a steady decline in the funding of Agricultural research for International Development at both bilateral and multilateral levels.

Now co-chaired by Tony Baldry MP (Conservative) and Lord Cameron of Dillington (Crossbench), the APPG is supported by contributions from Trusts, Foundations, NGOs and Private Individuals.

Should you wish to contact the Group, or be added to the mailing list, contact James Birch.
