LWEC is a ten-year programme of interdisciplinary research activities that aim to provide decision makers with the best information to effectively manage and protect vital ecosystem services.

A £7m collaborative research programme between BBSRC and DFID is helping to tackle some of the most damaging and widespread pests, diseases and harsh environmental conditions which can devastate crop yields across the developing world. 

The goal of the Africa Unit is to help educational institutions both in Africa and the UK create new partnerships and strengthen existing ones by providing information, advice and support.
